South African Youngster Addresses Orlando Pirates Future as Transfer Rumours Intensify

Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana rising star Relebohile Mofokeng has broken his silence on the growing transfer speculation surrounding his name, especially after fellow academy products Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Mohau Nkota recently left the club.

At just 21, the highly rated winger is considered one of South Africa’s brightest prospects and continues to attract strong interest from abroad. He nearly secured a move to MLS side Minnesota United in August, with the American outfit tabling a formal offer to the Buccaneers.

After winning the Premiership Young Player of the Season award twice in a row and delivering back‑to‑back standout campaigns in the PSL, questions are mounting about his next step.

Mofokeng’s domestic form earned him national recognition, leading to his senior Bafana Bafana debut in June 2024. He later featured in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations knockout stages in early 2026, further boosting his profile.

With over 100 club appearances already under his belt, the Vaal‑born attacker is widely viewed as one of the most exciting young players in the country. His talent has previously earned him an assessment with English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Algerian giants MC Alger have also expressed strong interest.
